Troubleshooting Free Folder Monitor
Check common input, access and cancellation issues before trying again.
Start With A Small Test
Check that the local folder still exists and your account can read it. Verify recursion and view filters. UNC network paths are not supported. If the app reports overflow or heavy activity, reduce the scope and do not assume the log is complete.
Check Access And Running Apps
Use folders that your Windows account can access. Close apps using the selected files when the operation requires it. Do not change system security permissions just to force an operation through.
If You Need To Cancel
Use Stop to end the watcher. Pause also stops event capture, so changes while paused are not logged or reconstructed on Resume. Make a small harmless test change after resuming to check the new session.
Before Trying Again
Read the status message, correct the reported input or path, and try the smallest affected selection. Keep logs local if they contain personal paths or filenames.
